Luca Monachino

Messina - Conservatorio Arcangelo Corelli

Born in Caltagirone in 1997, Luca Monachino began studying piano at the age of 7. After his early training with Maestro Salvatore Spina, he was admitted to the A. Corelli Conservatory in Messina in the class of Maestro Gaetano Indaco. Under his guidance, he earned the Academic Diploma in Piano with highest honors, distinction, and honorable mention.

He attended the chamber music course at the International School of Music "Avos Project" with Maestro Mario Montore and furthered his studies under the guidance of Maestro AlessandroDeljavan.


He has participated in numerous national and international competitions, always obtaining first

prizes.


In 2017, he won the Liszt Society International Competition in London, receiving

wide acclaim. This led to recitals in London (Perivale and Ealing) for the Liszt Society, of which he is now a member.


In 2022, he won the Amigdala International Competition for Piano and Orchestra.


In 2022, he was among the winners of the Ibla Grand Prize International Music Competition. 


In 2023, he was a finalist in the 2nd edition of the Ferruccio Benvenuto Busoni International Competition for Piano and Orchestra in Fucecchio.


In 2025, he won the European Competition City of Syracuse.


He has performed for prestigious institutions and concert associations such as the Philharmonic Association Laudamo of Messina at the Palacultura Antonello, the "Riflessuoni" concert season organized by the A. Corelli Conservatory, the European Music Festival at Teatro Machiavelli in Catania, the Vincenzo Bellini Musical Association of Messina at Teatro Vittorio Emanuele and Sala Laudamo, the Noto Musica Festival, Camerata Polifonica Siciliana, the Liszt Society UK in London,

Mare Culturale Urbano in Milan, and the International Festival "Duchi dAcquaviva" in Atri in a four-hands duo with Maestro Alessandro Deljavan.


He has collaborated with the Symphony Orchestra of the A. Corelli Conservatory conducted by Maestro Bruno Cinquegrani, the Symphony Orchestra of Teatro Vittorio Emanuele in Messina conducted by Maestro Giuseppe Ratti, and under the direction of Maestro Benedetto Montebello he performed at the G7 Italy 2024 summit at the Teatro Comunale in Syracuse.


He has attended advanced courses held by internationally renowned pianists such as Leslie Howard, Roberto Cappello, Pierluigi Camicia, Michele Marvulli, Michele Campanella, Alexander Hintchev, Violetta Egorova, Francesco Libetta, Gloria Campaner, and Alessandro Deljavan.


From 2021 to 2024, he was Professor of Principal Piano at the Brahms Music Institute in Riposto, affiliated with the A. Corelli Conservatory in Messina. He is currently teaching at the Accademia Musicale Medicea in Sesto Fiorentino.
